Hooray! I’m so grateful that you clicked over to see my new website & blog! Welcome!! This has been a LONG time coming and I am so excited to finally have my own space on the internet to share more of my work but also little pieces of my heart & more about who I am outside of the photography world! A big thanks to a talented friend, Connor Hipps, for making my vision a reality & kindly making all of my many (likely annoying) tweaks & changes! Another huge thanks to the lovely Lydia of Lydia Robins Hendrix who did the hand-lettering of my beautiful logo designs! Big hugs to both of you for joining me in this creative process!
To start, today I’ll give you the very quick rundown on how Casey Edwards Photography came to be! I got into the wedding photography world right after college (Let’s Go Duke!) thanks to the amazing Courtney Dox Photography. Without having any experience in the wedding world, she took a risk & hired me to be her second shooter for all of her weddings that year. Courtney taught me all the ins & outs of how to photograph weddings, engagements, bridals, and I think it’s fair to say that I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am today without her knowledge, support, love & friendship! Eventually I became Courtney’s office assistant & towards the end of my time with her, an associate photographer for her company! After having her second sweet little baby, Courtney decided to take a break from wedding photography so she could be fully present in raising her girls. I couldn’t admire her more! Courtney started out as just my boss, but she quickly became one of my very best friends! She gave me the boost I needed to begin my own company, and that is when Casey Edwards Photography was born!

Over the past year and half, I’ve been so blessed to serve some of the most amazing couples & families. My prayer has been that the Lord would bring people my way that I could love and serve well through photography, all for His glory. That’s been the heartbeat of my little company since day one. I hope to use these gifts given to me by God to show His abundant grace & mercy in this world through this artistry that I have the joy of calling a career! I want to capture the beauty of his intricate creation: from the tiny toes of a newborn baby to the awe-filled wonder of becoming one on a wedding day and all those precious moments & details in between.
There were lots of exciting events in 2015, but the most exciting was most definitely my very own wedding day. I married my best friend under the hanging moss of gorgeous oak trees in Charleston, SC and it was the most grace-filled, joyful day of my life. This day warrants its own future blog post, so I won’t go into the details now, but I’ll never forget how I felt on that day and I love having beautiful images to remember it all. Having been a bride myself is proving to be incredibly helpful as I offer guidance, advice, and support to the brides that I work with!

Another beautiful gift of being in this business is that photography has already taken me around the globe to many incredible destinations. From Zimbabwe & Kenya to Bermuda to California to Mexico to lots of little destinations in between, my camera has brought dignity to orphans & widows seeing photos of themselves and joy to couples seeing images of the moments just after they said “I Do” committing to a lifetime together. Travel is one of my absolute favorite ways to stay inspired. I love seeing new cities, towns, & countries; capturing moments to help me remember all the textures, tastes, smells, and sights. In this coming year, I already have plans to visit several new places & I’m always eager to add another destination to my list.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite images to share more about my style as a photographer tied together with more of my story, the things I love, & what you can expect to see and hear about in this space. I hope you come back to join me!
